Top 3 features for AEC professionals
Top 3 features for AEC professionals
I'm gonna take you through three features that are heavily used in the construction industry.
The first one we're gonna focus on is Dropbox transfer.
With Dropbox transfer, we're able to send out this tender package to our subcontractors seamlessly and in a secure manner.
Not only are we able to securely send up to two hundred and fifty gigabytes, we are also able to set an expiration date, set a password, and be notified when other individuals are downloading Let's go ahead and create the transfer Once the transfer is generated, it's a simple url that can be shared with your subcontractors that they can quickly access and download the relevant content So now that we've successfully and securely shared our tender package out to our subcontractors, let's create a means for them to easily and securely share information with us.
But we're going to do this by a file request.
Let's go ahead and get one started.
You can give the file request a name, a description, and then we can also set a naming convention to help reduce the chaos. I always like to have as default the sender's name, and I like to add another rule when it comes to adding the date uploaded. This helps really understand the information when it's coming in and reduce that chaos.
One can also set a deadline, which is also critical when it comes to tender packages.
And you can allow or not allow late uploads and set a password. So let's go ahead and get that created.
This will be a URL that can be shared with your subcontractors that allows a seamless experience for them to upload content to you. Now, the last piece I want to share very briefly is in regards to folder automations. On the tender package, we have the capability to add any type of automation as seen here. Previously, we set the rule names or for renaming files. One that we see quite heavily used in the construction industry is changing the file format to JPEG or PNG.
But this is a way that one can, again, reduce the chaos and put some organization into your projects.
