Reducing the risk of malware attacks

You can securely send links to anyone, even if they don't have a Dropbox account, with the mxHero integration. Learn how to access files, and understand what happens when Dropbox detects the risk of malware attacks.

Reducing the risk of malware attacks

MX Hero replaces any email attachments with an access link to your Dropbox account. This easily allows you to track, control, and modify attachments even after the original email has been sent.

To begin, start to create your email. Then add in any attachments via the options window. Once uploaded, complete your messaging and send your email. The recipient will be notified via their inbox.

The attachment is now replaced in the form of a Dropbox link. This link takes advantage of Dropbox's preview function and allows the attachment to be viewed without the need for downloading. The end user does not need a Dropbox account to take advantage of this feature.

If a malicious file is detected, Dropbox will prevent the end user from being able to preview this file from this link. The file is still accessible within the sender's Dropbox account, but as a virus has been detected, Dropbox will prevent any links from being generated and shared to any further users.
