Document status reports are available on Premium plans. If you don't see this report in your account, check with your Dropbox Sign admin or account owner to confirm which plan your organization is using.

Compliance reports

Dropbox Sign provides several compliance-focused reports, including:

Account & API key details

Provides visibility into:

  • User account status

  • API key usage

  • Login activity

This report is particularly useful when you need a snapshot of who has access to your account and which credentials are active. It's a good resource for periodic security reviews and access audits.

API call activity

Tracks:

  • API endpoints accessed

  • Request activity

  • IP addresses

  • User agents

Understanding reporting timeframes

Note

Data is available for up to 10 years and can be viewed in increments of one year or less.

This allows admins to analyze both recent activity and longer-term trends when needed.

Tip

Choose shorter date ranges when investigating specific events and broader date ranges when reviewing adoption or historical usage trends.

Reporting limitations

Reporting tip

Reports include data for current team members only. Users who have been removed from the team won't appear in future reports.

This is one reason user removal should be planned carefully. If you need reporting data related to a user's activity, generate and export any required reports before removing their account.

Before deleting documents

Deleting documents may affect your ability to access historical information later.

Note

Before deleting documents:

  • Generate any reports you may need.

  • Export data required for audits or compliance reviews.

  • Confirm retention requirements with your organization.


Warning

Deleted documents are removed from reporting data and cannot be recovered. If reporting information may be needed in the future, generate and retain any required reports before initiating document deletion.

This becomes especially important if your organization plans to use automated document deletion policies. Establishing a process for exporting reports before deletion occurs can help ensure important reporting data remains available when needed.
